This series is intended to engage us in giving ex-offenders a second chance and to create an awareness of all the hardship and torment they go through. Far too many ex-offenders struggle to find stable and legitimate employment after their conviction or even being accepted back into society, with the result that their rehabilitation and reintegration into society are compromised. Some may feel they have little or no choice but to return to criminal activity as a way to make ends meet. That doesn’t help the individuals in question or society in general. Instead of shunning and outcasting them, we should learn to be more accepting and be more willing to help rehabilitate ex-offenders who are keen to become contributing members of society.
